EMDR

Recalibrating the mind and body

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing is an integrative approach to treating emotional trauma. Extensively researched, this highly standardized process incorporates multiple treatment protocols to identify efficiently and process traumatic memories. In short, EMDR forces the brain to address stressful events that the brain previously closed off in self-defense. Working through a step-by-step process, EMDR addresses memories that are “stuck” and processes them, removing the negative effects (and in some cases physical reactions) to support the healing process. EMDR was originally developed to help treat Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) but is highly beneficial for those suffering from anxiety, stress, physical and mental abuse, and grief.
